An industrial sand supplier required an engineered material handling system, including conveyors, bucket elevators, support structures and chutes, for transferring silica sand at its new Illinois plant. The company hired Rapat to provide layout drawings, conveyor engineering, structural engineering, chute design and on-site installation supervision, due to Rapat’s industry experience and design/build capabilities. Despite the challenging terrain of the area and long distances between transfer points, Rapat successfully engineered a new system for the plant, including an 1,100-foot, trussed cross-yard conveyor.
