Frac Sand Transloading Facility, North Dakota
Project Type: Frac Sand Transloading Facility
Location: North Dakota
Capacities: 500 TPH
Looking to capitalize on their rail property, a client decided to build a transload facility to supply frac sand to the nearby oil fields. Rapat was given only six weeks to deliver a bucket elevator and support tower with a spiral staircase and head service platform. Lead time was not the only challenge, however. It was discovered that the customer’s storage silos were unable to support any significant loads. Rapat had to design the entire conveyor system to be completely free standing. Then, the enclosed rail receiving conveyor, enclosed reversing conveyors, trusses, interconnecting chutework, ladders, and walkways had to arrive at the jobsite just prior to the contractor’s installation schedule.
