After developing an innovative operation to produce high-quality metallic iron nuggets for steel production, a client contracted Rapat to design and build a material handling system for its expansive plant. In the first phase, Rapat constructed a system to receive raw material from mine trucks and deliver it to the concentrator building. Next, Rapat designed belt conveyors to transfer filter cake to two gallery-style conveyors. One of the two conveyors stockpiled the product, while the other transferred it to the processing building. Rapat incorporated special design elements throughout the project to accommodate heavy and highly abrasive materials while withstanding harsh environmental conditions.
