To speed the process of loading minerals into trucks, an underground mining facility partnered with Rapat to design a new system to pile minerals on the ground for easy access by front-end loaders. Rapat engineered two trussed conveyors to free span over an existing truck lane and penetrate a plant wall. The application required a unique cantilevered head section, since the existing structure could not be used for support, as well as a center drive for proper weight distribution. Walkways and a head platform were also included for service access. Additionally, Rapat delivered the conveyors during a planned shutdown and provided recommendations on temporary supports to complete the erection smoothly.
