As part of a new potash processing facility, the client’s engineer approached Rapat to build three 316 stainless steel Series-RR enclosed spool idler belt conveyors for handling potash cake from its centrifuges. Because of the product’s corrosive nature, all stainless steel components had to be sent out and passivated for an even higher level of corrosion resistance. The customer also required a number of custom features including a material strike-off plow, neoprene gasketing, and a water spray bar belt cleaning system, as well as numerous access doors to maintain and adjust components, as needed.
